FWIW, i was told if the Cowen buyout goes through, Leafs will be trading for Fowler.

While I've read that Lindholm is a homerun, is Fowler that much of an upgrade over Gardiner to warrant a kings ransom as I would think Gardiner would likely be going the other way? From what I've seen, I don't think so.

Ducks and Rangers have had higher ups scouting each other for games now and nobody seems to mention it. The NYR seem to be scouting the Ducks d men. Fowler and Lindholm seem to be valued a lot by the Ducks. Vatanen maybe gets moved? Yes he just signed a deal over the summer but that was before the Lindholm drama.

the ducks need to sign lindholm and have only 300k in cap space. I imagine any trade to move fowler will involve only picks and prospects coming back as the only reason to make that move is to clear space to sign lindholm

However, I'm also reading that Winnipeg may want krug in return, which when push comes to shove I may be enticed. Love krug, but not sure he's a guy you want mentioned 1st or 2nd when talking about a defensive corps. If something like krug, senyshyn and 1st could get the b's trouba, I do it. Not sure how much leverage the jets have?

Ben Lovejoy and a nice firm handshake for Fowler. You know, one of those handshakes that just makes you feel good about yourself.

I would not think WPG has a lot of leverage. Like the Ducks they are in a jam and WPG has the money they just do not believe he is worth what he wants and Trouba wants out anyway. I would not overpay. Let him sit out the season.
